Wednesday Dec 3- Cologne

Today we took a daytrip to Cologne. It is about a 30 minute train ride from Dusseldorf. The train station there is quite impressive and directly across the street from the monstrous Cathedral of which you'll see several pictures below. It was built on and off since 1248. It was not destroyed in WWII as the airplanes used it as a guiding point when bombing the city so they needed it to be there. We only spent about 6 hours in Cologne/Koln, but got around alot. Once again there are huge shopping streets and many xmas markets. We went on one on a boat on the Rhine river (it stayed in port though). We bought a few knick knack items here. We spent the rest of the day just meandering through the streets.

As the night took over, this Cathedral gets an ominous look.
